Abstract

The short-term goal is business development by the basis of local wisdom being implemented through the development of distributed seaweed processing and marketing in research units; and the long-term goal is that the general objective of this research is to create effective strategies in the development of the sustainable competitiveness of seaweed business’ processing and marketing in Ambon City and Western Southeast Maluku. The specific target of this research is to obtain a strategic partnership model of processing and marketing business of seaweed in the Maluku regions. The research employed explorative method. The approach of data analysis method in research was mixed methods research or combining the analysis methods of quantitative data and qualitative data analysis method using the approach of triangulation model analysis design. State of the art designed partnerships strategies in the processing and marketing having competitiveness that provides the benefits for the improved welfare for seaweed manufacturers in archipelago-based coastal community. This research would also formulate a comprehensive model on seaweed processing business in isles areas as a sub-model of archipelago economics.
