Determinants Of Poverty In Eastern Indonesia
Abstract
Poverty is a problem that must be resolved by each country, including Indonesia. Therefore, the government continues to make strategic programs to reduce poverty by providing basic needs and improving the quality of education levels. The data used in this research is data from seventeen provinces in Eastern Indonesia from 2018-2022 and is sourced from the Statistics Centre Agency. The analysis technique used is panel data regression. This research aims to analyze the effect of social assistance funds, literacy rates, and Gross Domestic Regional Product (GDRP) on poverty in Eastern Indonesia. The research results show that literacy rates have a significant negative effect on poverty, while social assistance funds and GDRP have no effect on poverty. The implication of this research is that the government needs to optimize the role of social assistance funds and maintain national economic activities so it can reduce poverty rate.
