PERAN KEPEMIMPINAN, KOMPETENSI SDM, DAN PENGELOLAAN MANAJEMEN DALAM PENINGKATAN DAYA SAING KOPERASI DI INDONESIA
Abstract
‘Koperasi Simpan Pinjam’ is a unique financial institution that operates and spread in many
regions in Indonesia. This financial institution was established based on social responsibility to
help the Indonesian people, especially disadvantaged people to be able to have a decent
livelihood in order to provide welfare of this nation. As a financial institution, ‘Koperasi Simpan
Pinjam’ is certainly had to manage its organization including the human resources and the fund
as best as it could in order to deliver maximum benefits for its members. In the reality, ‘Koperasi
Simpan Pinjam’ has so far remained unsuccessful to create welfare for the people and still unable
to compete with other financial institutions. The lack and limited quality of management system
is suspected to be one of the major causes of this weak competitiveness power and this has
hinder ‘Koperasi Simpan Pinjam’ to remain its existence and becoming one major economic
power in Indonesia.
This paper use qualitative method to try to examines the possible methods to help the
improvement of Indonesia’s ‘Koperasi Simpan Pinjam’. The end results show that the
commitment to improve leadership, human resources competence, and management capacity
would eventually help ‘Koperasi Simpan Pinjam’ to grow stronger and improve its
competitiveness power.
