PERBEDAAN KEPUASAN KEBUTUHAN PSIKOLOGIS DASAR DAN MOTIVASI KERJA ANTARA DOSEN-DOSEN DI KABUPATEN BANYUMAS DAN DAERAH ISTIMEWA YOGYAKARTA

Abstract

This study examines the differences of basic psychological need satisfactions and work motivation between the lecturers in Banyumas and the lecturers in Daerah Istimewa Yogkarta (DIY). Basic psychological need satisfactions that consist of the feel of competence, autonomy and relatedness are essential key for the positive outcome of organization and human being. The social environment that support these need will affect those satisfactions. The differences of area are expected to differ for facilitating basic psychological need satisfaction and work motivation. It because different are lead to different the characteristics. Our hypotheses propose that the lecturers in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta have higher basic psychological need satisfactions than those satisfactions in Banyumas. We use 410 lecturers for the sample. The results show that the feels of competence, autonomy are higher for the DIY lecturers than those feels for Banyumas lecturers. However, there are no differences of the feel of relatedness and work motivation between DIY lecturers and Banyumas lecturers.
