Abstract

This is a case study on the potential of the border area entitled “Investment and Development of Border Regions”. The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of economic growth, potential sectors and regional development policies and programs of the border of Central Java and West Java. There are three areas in this paper, including Cilacap, Banjar and Ciamis region. From the analysis of each area, found that each region has an investment opportunity that has not been developed maximally. The lack of inter-regional cooperation across various sectors, a major factor is less maximum development of the border region. The implication of this research is the need for cooperation among local governments of each border region with investors and the public to the potential and investment opportunities of each region can be developed to its full potential and be beneficial to all parties. The forms of collaboration can be carried out by the border region Cilacap, Banjar and Ciamis, that is Commodity Collaboration, Trails Partnership, Accessibility Collaboration, System Information Collaboration, Partnership Marketing Commodity and Rest Area Regional Border Collaboration and other collaboration.
