Abstract


The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of Islamic work ethics on the individual outcomes in organization. Islam is the biggest religion in Indonesia, thus the Islamic ethics would be fit and powerful to encourage employees’ job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and organization citizenship behaviour. This article provides the conceptual model with seven dimensions of Islamic work ethics and individual outcomes variables. Islamic ethics would be more creates fairness on employee perception. Trusteeship would improve the employees’ engagement to their organization. Interestingly, when the employee thinks that their task would give effect to Islamic Ummah, the organization citizenship behaviour would improve. Suggestion for future research is discussed.
