PERAN PERGURUAN TINGGI DALAM PENGEMBANGAN BATIK DI PURBALINGGA

Abstract


Batik is an incredible national culture heritage which does not only mean as a fashion, but also it encloses culture values and high life philosophy. There are many other fashion products which compete with batik but it does not disturb the survival of batik in market since it has high economic value. Purbalingga has a good potential of batik, however the progress has not been optimal yet. Unsoed, as a well-known university, is challenged to solve the problems and help the producers of batik increase their competitiveness (in the perspective of 4 P) which covers batik technique, coloring, marketing and promotion of the product. Through action research approach, the producers of batik were given training and escorting where the result showed the increase in the skill of the producers related to the quality of the product, the motive of batik, product quality, selling value, and marketing network expansion.
