IbPE PRODUK GULA KELAPA DI KABUPATEN BANYUMAS PROVINSI JAWA TENGAH

Abstract

Banyumas Regency, is one of the potential producers of palm sugar in Central
Java. The number of craftsmen and tappers in Banyumas are 26.265 people spread over
2.298 farmer groups in 23 districts. Palm sugar industry in Banyumas Regency spread
in almost all districts in Banyumas. Palm sugar Banyumas Regency production has
known and marketed for national and export markets. One of SMEs that has marketed
its palm sugar products to export market is UD Ngudi Lestari, Kalisalak Village,
Kebasen District, Banyumas Regency. To fulfill the export demand, UD Ngudi Lestari
cooperate with UD Lestari Jaya. Therefore, both of these SMEs will be a partner in
IbPE activity to be carried out.
IbPE activity is the first year activity of 3 (years) in a row with priority focus
issues in the first year are: Increasing quality control of raw materials and production
process; Increasing product quality; Provision of facilities for production equipment
such as sugar mold shaped as the export market demand to fulfil the demand of
overseas markets and Business management mentoring and betterment. Outcomes that
have been achieved in this first year are: Having refractmeter to improve the precision
test of water content in the raw material 1 unit; Having sap filter 20 units; Having
blengker 20 units; Increasing sap quality with minimal water content; Increasing
quality product with the impurities content 0%; Decreasing the use of sodium bisulfite
at least 50%; Having sugar mold as the export market demand 3.000 units and having a
better accounting records. With the training, mentoring and appropriate technology
support affect the increase of production from 50 tons to 70 tons/month in UD Ngudi
Lestari, and from 20 tons to 30 tons/month in UD Lestari Jaya which followed by the
employment from 25 people to 35 people in UD Ngudi Lestari and from 10 people to 20
people in UD Lestari Jaya.
