DAYA DUKUNG SEKTOR PERHUBUNGAN LAUT UNTUK MENYONGSONG MASYARAKAT EKONOMI ASEAN : PELUANG DAN TANTANGAN

Abstract

The Vision of Association Of South East Asia Nations (ASEAN) is to establish ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by 2015, with one of its mission is to create connectivity among ASEAN countries in order to guarantee the member countries obtain a strong bargaining power, competitiveness and sustainability against global economy changes. Eventhough the global economy condition is unstable nowadays, the ASEAN economy growth significantly to achieve rank number 2 in Asia after the China Economy Growth, and the Asean trade volume recorded at 40% of the global trade volume, where its logistic or transportation is dominated by sea transportation/vessels. Indonesia has the opportunity to get benefit from the logistic side. However too optimalize benefit from AEC, Indonesia has to upgrade its global competitiveness such as to upgrade the Logistic Performance Index, as well as lowering logistic cost that currently stated at 26%of PDB. Some initiative has been done by Indonesian government to increase the nation transportation system such as implementing the National Logistic System (SISLOGNAS), and Master Plan of Accelerating and Expanding Indonesian Economy Development ( MP3EI)
