REGRET AVERSION BIAS DAN RISK TOLERANCE DALAM KEPUTUSAN INVESTASI

Abstract


The purpose of this research to investigates the effects of a person’s regret aversion bias (experienced regret and anticipated regret) are compare to the effects of an individual’s risk tolerance on investment decision behavior. Yohnson’s (2008) research found that regret aversion bias did not predict subsequent investment decision behavior. Risk tolerance significantly influenced investment decisions. The method of the research is experimental study with Chi-Square. The design of research is 2x2 (between subject) with regret aversion bias (experienced regret and anticipated regret) and risk tolerance (high and low).
The sample of subjects in this research are 70 students of the undergraduate program Faculty of Economics and Business at Satya Wacana Christian University who have already taken financial management course. The result of the research shows that an individual’s risk tolerance significantly influences to investment decision making. Risk tolerance proved to be a main effect in investment decision. Regret aversion bias does not significantly influences to investment decision making. In this result, no interaction between regret aversion bias and risk tolerance in the future of investment decision.
